Weekly Wisdom - We are not meant to be perfect. We are meant to be whole.

I’m a straight up nerd when it comes to Star Wars! I have all the films on VHS and DVD. I also own a lightsaber – the blue one of course, I’m not part of the dark side despite my dark tanned appearance (eff you sunshine!). Adidas Originals just unveiled the latest installment of the 2010 Originals campaign and this time they combime a famous Star Wars movie scene, the Mos Eisley Cantina. Advert features David Beckham, Franz Beckenbauer, Snoop Dogg, Noel Gallagher, Daft Punk and not to mention Hans Solo, Chewbacca. More after the cut.

I do find it rather funny how they only gave David Beckham one line to say. I’m sure they originally had him down to speak alien talk but you know he’s still learning English, can’t ask too much of him now.

“The theme of the 2010 Originals campaign is a neighborhood of originality,” explained Tom Ramsden, Global Director of Communications, adidas Originals. “It brings together all elements of adidas Originals and the diverse people who wear it — artists, athletes, musicians, skaters and so on, all in one place, doing what they love to do. So when we thought about how to best present adidas’ partnerships with Star Wars and the 2010 FIFA World Cup™, we immediately thought of temporarily turning the Mos Eisley Cantina into a place to watch some football and invite some friends along. The result is a truly unique, original film.”

The campaign will launch on TV in UK and the US on June 12th, the full length 2 minute version is available online here at StarWars.com and elsewhere.
