Boogie is a really talented photographer born in Belgrade and based in Brooklyn, I only just came across his work today and I’m already a fan. One reason being that I love black and white photography and his photographs look like freeze frames from moments that would be taking place in the world. He drew his inspiration from the political issues that arose in in his country, you can pick out any of his photos and you will get the gist of why it was taken and the story behind it. His photographs are so morbid and it’s interesting because i’m not sure if that is because they are shot in black and white or if it’s the inspiration makes you appreciate his skills as a photographer. Please visit his website and you will see a lot more of his work.

Ladj Ly is a 29 year old filmmaker. In this video he talks about his childhood experiences that have led him on the path of producing short films and documentaries. His work is quite revolutionary, aiming to give voice to the people. Some of his documentaries have been accused of being too explicit and ‘hardcore’ and got banned from national TV. However u can still watch them on Youtube or Dailymotion.

The Reset is the UK’s biggest street wear event that allows some of the UK’s illest independent brands to showcase their latest collections and you can most certainly expect some exclusive new products to drop. The video for one of my favourite songs from her ‘Rated R‘ album has dropped. Apparently this video is only meant for German fans, I guess the Deustch like lesbian acts and bondage because that’s what most of this video is filled with. The funny thing is I like her the most when she has the dress on running around on the grass lawn. You know I ain’t going to let a Riri video slip by, haha. The quality ain’t great but enjoy the video after the cut.

We also popped down to the Aqua Couture launch party at Fouberts Place which is just off Carnaby Street. I went there hoping to look at some of their men’s tees but all I saw was female ish. It was nice skipping the queue as that meant getting evil stares from about 50 odd overly made-up women patiently waiting to get in and get 30% off their dresses. It was a little hectic and way too crowded up in there though, I didn’t really get a chance to snap any photos of the dresses as I had to keep moving in circles dodging people within the store. Louis Vuitton will open the New Bond Street Maison in London on 28th May 2010 (TODAY). The opening of the New Bond Street Maison gives a home perfectly attuned to the new twenty-first century mood of a place that Louis Vuitton president Yves Carcelle describes as “one of the most important fashion and cultural cities in the world. It brings together innovation, heritage and fashion values that are all important to Louis Vuitton.” More details after the cut.

Rarely do I do posts for single tracks but hey, it’s Kanye West. He’s probably going to email me saying ‘Yo Niran, I’m really happy for you, I’m going to let you finish but Beyonce had one of the best blogs of all time’. It’s a great track, especially loving the drums and vocals in background. Yeezy is back, Good Ass Job is set to drop in September. Link after cut.
