Its been such a great Easter break this year, last time I said things had to be different and well.. they are getting there. I fulfilled two out of three objectives, that is a start..right? I’ve been up all night doing some stupid report that I should have done ages ago but after 5 really strong coffees it’s done and I’m now feeling stupid as I’m running on the effects.. thus please overlook any imperfections in this post!

So the last four weeks I have spent back at home chilling with the fam! It’s always refreshing to go back home after stressful term time when you got essay deadlines and portfolio deadlines and drunken times- sometimes your body just needs to rest.
Living on my own is the best thing, I do whatever I want, whenever I want and never have to answer to anyone! NO.. ..not even, just remember I am Ghanaian- I don’t live with my parents but make no mistake they still help me with things (more like make me do what they say or else). I spent the holidays at the rents because my Mum took me by surprise when she called me and said she was 5mins away so she’s coming to pay me a visit. I literally just got out the shower meaning I had at 5mins to get ready and do the quickest spring cleaning ever! She walks in and the first thing she did was frown. She grew more and more unhappy walking through the corridor until she got to my living room (by then her lips had drawn a circle). Then she looked at me and asked, no actually she shouted “how can you live like this!?” this makes my place sound like a dump, but it’s really not, she was over exaggerating you know how mothers are! She claimed I had become too skinny and looked unhealthy so she’s taking me home to eat “proper” food. God all I have done here is eat constantly, I must have gained at least 15 pounds and she’s still complaining. Aside from gaining weight, I did manage to find a new job which is great. Hip-Hop dance lessons I did not do, BUT, I did spend a day learning Michael Jacksons’ Choreographies with my little brother (LOL). Now it’s over and I’m back to independence as post this morning happens to include my electricity bill… *SIGH*
This term is gonna fly by, one more essay for next week and then two weeks time its NYC. The way I am going with an empty suitcase and coming back with 2 packed out suitcases filled with sneakers and jackets and… But hold on! Do we even have somewhere to stay? Looking for affordable apartments to rent in NY it proving impossible, at this rate we’ll be sleeping in central park.. I call the bench! Or maybe we won’t even get to go because of this damn Volcano, boy that would suck! If anyone knows good places to stay in NY (preferably within Manhattan) let us know!
