Weekly Wisdom - We are not meant to be perfect. We are meant to be whole.

I used to live that Asher Roth lifestyle, the whole university thing where you wake up and walk to the SU bar for a beer and a burger. Now I can’t bring myself to get ready to go out and get drunk, it’s just a hassle. Getting ready, travelling to the club via the underground, getting wasted and paying for drinks with your debit card then travelling back home in a dodgy cab and getting ripped off for it. Why all that trouble when you just can drink at home?

I feel the need to let go off life for a few hours and go crazy, tonight’s a friends birthday. Alcohol is evil. I have a love/hate relationship with it, some of my greatest female encounters have come through the influence of alcohol and others I have totally fucked up thanks to alcohol.

Ok this next part I’m writing while in the club. It’s 2am and the alcohol has had no effect on me; the club is so humid, it’s like I’m back living the Mowgli life in India. My hair has started to curl up, give me a bed in the middle of the dance floor and I’ll be more than happy to konk out and sleep.

I prefer house parties, much more intimate and you actually get to meet and talk to people. In these commercial/pretentious clubs you’ll only enjoy yourself if you are drunk of your face. More house parties, BBQs and pool parties (imma find some rich folk) this summer please?

Until next time folks,

A Sober Yin.
