A new trailer for the remake of Karate Kid featuring the son of Fresh Prince, Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan just dropped . I wasn’t so sure about remaking a classic after watching the first trailer but now I’m definitely a little annoyed by Hollywood. If ya’ll click play and watch the trailer you’ll know what I mean, Jackie Chan’s character is teaching the kid kung-fu?! Kung-fu in a film that is titled ‘Karate’ Kid. It’s like paying to go watch a football game and when you get there that they’re playing rugby. meh. Trailer on the flipside.
The song in the background is by Fort Minor, Mike Shinoda‘s side project from Linkin Park. They released an album back in 2005 and it’s dope! ya’ll should buy it but I’ll be nice and leave a link to the song. I can’t find the song at the very start of the trailer but I’m guessing it will be part of the movie soundtrack when it drops in June.

Personally I feel that they shouldn’t have used the ‘Karate Kid’ franchise and just made it from scratch but I still think the film will be a hit. Many of the kids these days don’t know much about the Karate Kid as it was an 80s/90s thing. My cousins for example didn’t have a clue; I showed them the trailer and they were blown away as most kids at that age would be. I’ll ignore the title and enjoy the film.
